What to Expect on your First Day
Your first day has arrived and you're probably feeling a little anxious, and hopefully a little excited too! Just remember you will not be the only person feeling this way. Be assured that staff and pupils will do everything they can to make you feel as supported as confident as possible.
When you arrive at school in the morning you will go straight to the assembly hall. At the assembly you will be told who your guidance teacher is and which class you are in. You will also be given a timetable to follow. Your class will be given a couple of pupil guides who will be there to help you throughout the day.
Staff will tell you practical things like where the toilets are and where the dining hall is, and if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask!
It's always a really good idea to make sure you are prepared for school and ready to work. Remember to pack your school bag with all the things you may need, for example, your P.E. kit, pencil case, lunch money/ lunch card. Starting off with a good routine will be of great benefit to you as the year progresses.
Now all you have to do is work hard and enjoy your new secondary school experience!!
