Pupil Support Assistants
Pupil support assistants are a valuable asset to any school. Paisley Grammar has been very lucky to have several pupil support assistants who are able to support both staff and pupils in many ways.
Pupils with ASN are offered support within the classroom and, sometimes, one-to-one support. We take into consideration conditions like dyspraxia, dyslexia, behavioural needs, visual impairment and auditory impairment.
Pupil Support Assistants also Read and Scribe for pupils who qualitfy for this additional support in their SQA exams. Some of our pupil support assistants have also been advised by nursing staff about how to help diabetic pupils manage their medication. They also have much experience in supporting young people who have been diagnosed as being on the Autisitic Spectrum.
We also have Support Assistants who support teaching staff with administrative tasks, supervise in the playground and take care of any First Aid needs that pupils may require.
